Quarter Three 2016 Commentary

Quarter three began on the heels of quarter two’s Brexit Blues (Britain’s vote to exit the European Union) but US stocks have since chugged along nicely delivering a respectable +2% gain as measured by the Dow Jones industrial Average (DOW) and a solid +3.1% gain as measured by the Standard and Poor’s 500 (S&P 500). Foreign stocks fared even better delivering a terrific +6.91% gain as measured by the Morgan Stanley Capital International All Country World Index Ex-U.S. (MSCI ACWI).

Short and Intermediate US bonds ended the quarter in positive territory, barely, but still with solid gains year-to-date. Foreign bonds ended the quarter up slightly more than their US counterparts but with even stronger gains year-to-date.

All-in-all, a very solid quarter!
